Our Curriculum

At Ty Sign Primary School, the provision of a well-organised and stimulating curriculum, catering for needs of all, is of paramount importance.

The curriculum includes not only the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum and Foundation Phase, but also the range of extra-curricular activities organised by the school to enrich the experience of the children.

We ensure our lessons are interactive, exciting and motivating for the children by organising educational visits, practical activities, visits from outside agencies and involvement with the local community. The content of the curriculum is organised into termly topics using the Cornerstones Curriculum.

The Cornerstones Curriculum promotes pupils development of key skills including the requirements of the Literacy and Numeracy Framework . The Cornerstones topics are brought to life by high quality teaching, inspirational learning activities and opportunities to listen and plan for developing interests and motivations of children.

The Cornerstones philosophy is to
